Meaford and the Irish Lookout
This is a stub of an article. A visit to this region should be combined with trip up to the Bruce Peninsula or the shores of Lake Huron or even Collingwood to the south.

Meaford
Just north of the majestic Blue Mountains is a small town at the head of the Bighead River called Meaford. Founded in 1837, it looks out onto the Georgian Bay. There is little to see in the town but ive always found it pretty. Among the highlights are the main street where you will find the meaford hall and its triumphant war memorial with a beautiful fire hall located off a side road. The town is also home to a marina and in my opinion is a perfect place to get away from the crowds that characterize Collingwood. Bring a book and kick back!
The Irish Lookout
Following the 26 through Meaford and transferring to side road 112 heading, you will end up on an tall bluff overlooking the Georgian Bay. In this distance you can see the Blue Mountains as well as the dense forests that characterize this part of Ontario.
Conclusion
After a day out hiking and exploring the region you should end you day at the bar and have local brew. I recommend picking up a few from the Side Launch Brewery in Collingwood or the Thornbury Cider Company in the nearby Blue Mountains or stopping off in a local bar to sample them!
